Bethany is a second year Master's student at the School of Library and Information Studies, University of Alberta. She is currently completing her Master's Thesis in YA literature, studying how discourses of complex themes are facilitated through various forms of social media. ​

     Bethany has a Music Education degree, as well as a Bachelor of Arts English Honours degree, during which she completed an Honours Thesis on moral ambiguity in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, Lois Lowry's The Giver series, and Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series. She taught music at both an elementary level and junior high (band) level, but soon realized that working with teens is where she belongs.
